đ Short version: Mockgrid processes everything in your browser. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Your quiz files and results never leave your device.
1. Who We Are
Mockgrid ("we", "our", "us") is a free, browser-based MCQ quiz practice platform available at mockgrid.netlify.app. Mockgrid is operated independently and is designed for Indian competitive exam students.
2. Information We Collect
Mockgrid is designed with privacy as a core principle. We collect no personal information from users.
What We Do NOT Collect
- Name, email address, phone number, or any contact information
- Your uploaded quiz files (CSV, Excel) â these stay in your browser only
- Your quiz answers, scores, or results
- IP addresses or device identifiers for tracking purposes
- Location data
What Your Browser Stores Locally
To provide core functionality, Mockgrid uses your browser's localStorage and IndexedDB to store:
- Your quiz history and results (stored only on your device)
- Current quiz state (for pause/resume functionality)
- Question images you upload (stored only on your device)
- Your theme preference (light/dark mode)
This data is stored entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser's site data or using the "Clear History" option in the app.
3. Cookies
Mockgrid itself does not set tracking cookies. We use a single localStorage key to remember that you acknowledged our cookie notice. No third-party tracking cookies are used on this site.
If Google AdSense or other advertising networks are enabled in the future, they may use cookies as described in their respective privacy policies. We will update this policy accordingly before enabling any such services.
4. Third-Party Services
Mockgrid uses the following third-party libraries, loaded from CDNs:
- SheetJS (xlsx.js) â from jsDelivr CDN â for reading Excel/CSV files in your browser
- MathJax â from jsDelivr CDN â for rendering LaTeX mathematical expressions
- Google Fonts â for typography (loads fonts; Google may log font requests per Google's own privacy policy)
These libraries operate within your browser and do not send your quiz content to external servers.
5. Analytics
Currently, Mockgrid does not use any analytics service (such as Google Analytics). We may add privacy-respecting, anonymous analytics in the future. If we do, this policy will be updated, and any data collected will be aggregate and non-personal.
6. Advertising
Mockgrid does not currently display advertisements. We plan to integrate Google AdSense in the future to support the free operation of this platform. When advertisements are enabled:
- Google AdSense may use cookies to serve relevant ads
- You can opt out of personalized advertising via Google's Ad Settings
- We will update this privacy policy before enabling ads
7. Children's Privacy
Mockgrid is suitable for students of all ages. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Since we collect no personal information at all, this platform is safe for use by students of all ages.
8. Data Security
Since all your data is stored locally in your browser, your quiz files and results are protected by your own device's security. We recommend keeping your browser and operating system updated for best security.
9. Your Rights
Since we do not collect any personal data, there is no data about you stored on our servers to access, modify, or delete. To remove data stored locally by Mockgrid, you can:
- Use the "Clear History" button within the Mockgrid app
- Clear site data for mockgrid.netlify.app in your browser settings
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Mockgrid after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
